Easter Egg Hunt

Chinese Christian Church of New Jersey held its 2nd annual Easter Egg  Hunt on Saturday, April 4, 2015.  Approximately 150 people, including Chinese, Caucasian, and Indian families, attended this event.  At the start of the program, parents and children sang songs and listened to the Bible story about the meaning of Easter.  Then, the preschoolers went outside for an egg hunt while the elementary children worked on a craft. Later, the two groups switched activities.  The craft was a big palm leaf mobile with pieces representing the five significant days of the Easter week.  There was Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday.  For the egg hunt, the children needed to pick at least six different colors of eggs in order to exchange for a goody bag full of toys, candies, and plastic eggs.  Besides a goody bag, each child also went home with several balloon animals.  It was a wonderful opportunity for the families to do fun projects together as well as learning about the resurrection of Jesus.
