Missions Ministry

CCCNJ Mission Ministry 2017 focused on the areas of Short Term Mission (STM) trips in the US and internationally; evangelism and outreach in area campuses and Youth Work Camp.

We praise God for all of the adults and youths who participated in those projects as they served God and others in unity and had set good examples for us. May God remember the labor of all the coworkers and may God raise up more brothers and sisters to be the warriors for Christ by using their gifts and talents in local outreach and international evangelism.

A. STM in Midwest US, Central Asia and Africa: Spreading the Seeds of the Gospel
1. STM Sports and Music Camps to Kyrgyzstan: 3 sisters from CCCNJ along with the 7 coworkers from the Harvest Church of NY traveled to Kyrgyzstan in July for 17 days to visit the Christian schools and orphanage established by Elder J. S Yang. During the summer camps, they taught the kids skills for various sports and skills to play flute and hand bells. They shared the gospel with the students there during the summer camps. CCCNJ has sent teams to Kyrgyzstan for eight consecutive years and are tremendously welcomed by the local Muslim residents and the students. It is a field ripe for harvest.
2. STM to colleges in Midwest states: Led by Elder Jerry Yang along with 5 coworkers, this team visited 8 campuses in the Midwest states located in Kentucky, Missouri and Illinois. They conducted 5 evangelistic meetings and invited more than a hundred students to attend. 13 of those students were converted. There are many Chinese students in the US campuses and we recognized the need of campus ministry and the shortage of workers.
3. STM to Africa: 4 adults from the English congregation were sent to Africa to minister to a local church for the refuges. They taught the refuges some practical life skills and Bible lessons. They conducted many evangelistic activities because of peoples’ eager desire for the gospel.

B. East Coast STM and Local Campus Ministry: Welcoming and Caring for the New International Students
1. STM to the East Coast campuses consists of a team of 15 enthusiastic coworkers who visited 8 colleges in NY State for a week in August. More than two hundred students were invited and attended various evangelistic meetings and more than a dozen had made decisions to become Christians.
2. More than sixty people participated in visiting the local campuses at the end of August. Stevens’ Institute, Rutgers University and NJIT were among the schools we covered. About sixty students responded to the invitation and attended the Moon Festival welcome party and evangelistic activities. Students were introduced to the practical aspects of life in the US and they heard a message titled “Your Soul” which
reminded the students to not just pursue the materialistic and emotional fulfillment but to search for the ultimate fulfillment of one’s soul.
We praise God for the 5 baptized students who now joined us as coworkers in the campus ministry. We are now reaping the reward of spreading the seeds!

C. Youth Summer STM: Work Camp to Serve the Communities
Youth summer STM went to Pittsburgh for a 6 day community service. 18 youths along with their adult leaders participated in service projects sponsored by the World Vision organization. They painted houses for elderly people and helped in relief center to sort and package donated goods to be distributed to poor countries to benefit the needy children there.
We encouraged our youths to be involved in community services in order that they will be motivated to serve others with the love of Christ as Christians. They learned how to care and love others and treasure resources and all of them have demonstrated change of their attitude. That is one of the most rewarding benefits of youth STM.
